Power & Wisdom

Often in our walk as Christians there are times or situations we come across and find ourselves lacking strength or power, even sometimes lacking the will to do things, especially things of God or for God! Other situations put us in a position of being stuck, stranded and not knowing where to turn to or what the next step is. This usually is the case in many life situations, or mainly when a crisis arises.
These two scenarios arise in life when one is lacking power and the other, wisdom. What I want to share with you today is that these two characters in a Christian are vital in our walk and as weapons to defeat our enemy the devil, who indeed is the ultimate deceiver! How does one attain these?
Daniel 2: 20 "...Praise is to the name of God forever and ever, for power and wisdom are His." All power comes from the Lord, power to pray, power to stand firm, power to do His will, power to overcome temptation and even power to overcome what you may be going through in your life right now! All power is His as the word says in Daniel, and He is always willing and ready to give it to His children.
Let us take an example of even some of Jesus' disciples, when Jesus went to pray in Gethsemane, He took Peter, James and John with Him. As he left them, and went a little further He instructed them to stay and keep watch. (Mark 14: 32-34). When then Jesus returned he found them all asleep! Mark 14:37 "..."Simon," he said to Peter, "are you asleep? Couldn't you keep watch for one hour?" Jesus went back a second time and still instructed them to watch and pray but still came back and found them asleep, this even happened a third time! This was clearly a time of weakness, they indeed were lacking power. But however, after the crucifixion and then Resurrection of our Lord, these men were given POWER, (John 20: 19-23), Jesus proclaimed peace unto them and breathed on them and said "Receive the Holy Spirit!" From here these men became bold, they handled any situation they came across, they healed the sick, they endured hardship, they overcame temptation, and they were filled even with WISDOM.
James 1:5 " If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." As we mentioned earlier, Power and Wisdom are all His! There is no situation here on earth, in heaven or under the earth that the Lord cannot conquer for you, remember Philippians 2:9 -10 "Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that to the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth." Therefore my beloved, whatever it is we may come across whatever the situation, it surely has a name, therefore if we position ourselves faithfully and with humbleness before the Lord surely no matter what mountains we may face, they shall bow down to the name of Jesus, He who gives Power and Wisdom, AMEN!
